Soleil Tanning Salon

Bringing Sunshine to Dorridge

About Us

We would like to emphasize the importance we place on using sun beds responsibly. We offer clients a drink of water to replenish lost moisture and highly recommend using moisturising creams to not only enhance the sun tan they are building up, but protecting the skin through moisturisation. This also has the added advantage of making the tan last longer.

Recent studies have suggested that some doctors and public health authorities should rethink their advice about sun exposure. At the end of 2008, 18 researches on Vitamin D at the University of California concluded with recommendations that Vitamin D intake should be increased. Vitamin D has a key role to play in fractures, weakened muscles, fighting many types of cancer, depression, auto-immune systems, infectious diseases and heart disease. The University of California are not the only ones. Now the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Paediatrics have also asked the government to re-think its traditional advice. Whilst all the advice is unclear, Staff at both our shops recommend moderation.

As over 90% of Vitamin D production comes from UVB and ultraviolet light; we recommend that clients use the beds for short periods of time on a regular basis, hydrate through drinking water afterwards and moisturising with cream before.

Many clients use a sun tan cream. This is also highly recommended. Sun tan creams work in two ways:

Not only does it moisturise the skin as mentioned above but additionally it works to magnify the rays. Most people find that with using a cream, their time spent in the sun bed (and therefore saving money) is shortened and they get better results.
